The Tweetup at Webster University with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey started to trend (over 1 million “tweets”) about halfway through the event. Dean Benjamin Ola Akande introJack Dorsey at Webster U.duced Jack, a St. Louis native, who spoke about his upbringing in his hometown and the career that led him to create this phenomenal platform.

I caught up with some of my friends at this well-attended Tweetup, and my camera captured some of the special (albeit fuzzy) moments. The backdrop of some of the humorous real-time “tweets” brought lots of laughs from the crowd. For example, after a few long-winded questions, someone posted “all questions should be 140 characters or less.” Jack received the 2009 Person of the Year award for Webster University. He also received a custom “Twitter blue” catcher’s mitt from Rawlings and a personalized baseball bat from the St. Louis Cardinals. He will be throwing out the first pitch at tonight’s game. For more details about this exciting gathering and Jack’s new venture, check out this article from the Wall Street Journal.
