We begin life with a unique blueprint, a genealogical map that serves as a basis for our future on earth. From there, a foundation is built from nurture and nature, and the architecture of our existence begins to take form…brick by brick. Achievements are layered with disappointments; successes are balanced with failure. Family and friends are the mortar that help hold everything together, and if we do it right, our structure eventually falls into place.
Suddenly an earthquake starts to rumble and our house tumbles down around us. The bricks that were so carefully laid turn to bits of red clay, and all that is left is the foundation that came from the blueprint of our birth. So we start over…with the latest tools, the gift of wisdom and the chance to do it again.
If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them. - Henry David Thoreau
