On July 4, Levi’s® launched a Go Forth marketing campaign that illustrates how people can come together to rebuild their community. It is part of their “Ready to Work” series, and it features Braddock, PA, a town that once flourished with industry. Many of the workers have become urban pioneers dedicated to restoring its vitality. Mayor John Fetterman has been instrumental in enlisting the help of artists, craftsmen, musicians and business owners to revive the town, and it has become a model for how a community can prevail despite the challenges they face. This campaign was created to feature the Levi’s® Fall 2010 Work Wear Collection.
In addition to their website and blog, the folks at Levi’s® share their dynamic message on social media including:
Facebook – a page with over half a million fans
Twitter – microblogging by the “Levi’s guy” Gareth
YouTube – channels featuring the campaign videos
People think there aren’t frontiers any more. They can’t see how frontiers are all around us.

First it was the iTouch. Next it was the iPad. You can bet that in the not-too-distant future, the app choices are going to be more plentiful, and the screens are going to get bigger. Adweek’s article, Ready for the Tidal Wave?, goes into detail about how Internet-connected TVs will have the ability to hook up to the Internet and have interactive apps downloaded directly onto them by consumers. Here are some recent projections from In-Stat (listed in the article):
• U.S. shipments of Web-enabled consumer electronic (CE) devices that support TV applications will grow from 14.6 million in 2010 to 83.4 million by 2014.
• By 2014, over 59 million U.S. broadband households will own at least one CE device that supports TV applications.
• By 2014, the U.S. installed base of CE devices that support TV applications will be 136 million units.
Do you prefer tiny TV? According to this article in Bloomberg, AT&T U-verse will have some TV programs available on the iPhone and Blackberry Torch.
Miracles: You do not have to look for them. They are there, 24-7, beaming like radio waves all around you. Put up the antenna, turn up the volume – snap… crackle… this just in, every person you talk to is a chance to change the world… Hugh Elliott
